Kitchen Utensil Crock Mini-Make Over

I had been wanting a kitchen utensil crock for... oh, I don't know... forever! I kept looking for them, and was never happy with what I found, or refused to pay the price that was being asked. Luckily for me, my good friend bought me one for Christmas, and I love it!! Today I thought it deserved a mini-make over! :)

I have never used my Cricut to cut vinyl before, though I knew it could, and even had purchased some vinyl a couple of months ago, along with the transfer tape, but I could never bring myself to use it....( for fear of becoming addicted, I think!  I was right to be afraid, because I am now totally addicted!!).

So, armed with an idea, vinyl, a Cricut and the Sure Cuts Alot 2 software... I came up with an idea, and went for it! :)

So, here are some before and after pictures:

Before:

My very useful and most loved utensil crock

And After (without utensils)

Still useful and loved, but now it's got STYLE :)

After (with utensils):

Just doin' it's job! ;)

The coolest thing is, that I downloaded the picture off the web, and used the Trace feature on my SCAL2 software to create a file to cut with my Cricut and wah-lah!!  If you are a Cricut owner, I would highly recommend SCAL2. I bought it about 2 weeks ago and have used it a lot since then!!

This NOT so big of a mess was brought to you by,

Valerie

  5. THat is sooooo cute! I love it! I totally need to update my untensil holder.

I had never heard of the SCAL2 software. I've only had my Cricut a few months. Do you have to have the Cricut Design Studio to make it work?

  6. I've been on the lookout for something very similar to your crock. It was cute before, but it looks so fun with the vinyl added to it. Great job!

  10. I have the Sure Cuts a Lot program too!!! I love it! One of the things that was stopping me from getting a Cricut is when I saw the cost of the cartridges. I got mine with one cartridge that has basic stuff and then supplement it with my Sure Cuts A Lot program. :)
